Short answer: "apor" sellers on WhatsApp and Telegram take Mobile Money for "leaked" BECE or WASSCE papers that are almost always fake or recycled from past years. Even when candidates believe they have real questions, being involved in exam malpractice can lead WAEC to cancel results. You lose the money and risk the exam.
How the scam works
- Groups advertise "100% real questions" days before a paper.
- You pay to join, then pay again for each subject.
- You receive past questions, guesses, or nothing at all.
- Some sellers later threaten to report buyers unless they pay more.
Why it is not worth it
- The "leaks" are usually fake, so the money is simply lost.
- Exam malpractice can lead to cancelled results.
- Your phone number and MoMo name are now in a scammer's hands.
What to do instead
Use genuine past questions to practise, revise with classmates, and ask teachers about likely topics. If you see an "apor" seller, report the number on TrustCheck so other students are warned, and read how to report a scam in Ghana.
