Short answer: admission into a nursing or midwifery training college goes through the official application process. People who sell "protocol" admission, sell forms outside official channels, or promise places without interviews are scammers. Past cases in Ghana include arrests over sold "protocol admissions" and trainees dismissed for fake results, so a bought place can be taken away.
Common nursing admission scams
- "Protocol" admission sold for a fee by people posing as tutors or officials.
- Fake admission forms or vouchers sold online. The Ministry of Health has warned about fake forms before.
- Fake admission letters sent after a payment.
- Result "fixing" to meet entry requirements. Trainees admitted with fake results have been dismissed.
How to apply safely
- Use only the official application portal and the vouchers or PINs from authorised banks or sellers announced by the Ministry of Health.
- Confirm any admission on the official portal or with the college directly.
- Never pay an individual to "secure" a place.
Approached by an admission agent? Check their number, report them to the police, and report the number on TrustCheck. Fake results are covered in the results upgrade scam.
