Short answer: nobody can legally "upgrade" your WASSCE or BECE results for money. WAEC has warned the public about people who promise to upgrade results for a fee, and a Ghanaian fact-check confirmed WAEC has no system or consultants for upgrading grades. Institutions also verify results directly with WAEC, so altered results are caught.
How the scam works
- A "WAEC insider" or "consultant" on Facebook, WhatsApp or Telegram offers to raise your grades.
- You pay a deposit by MoMo, then "processing fees", then more.
- You may receive a fake result slip that fails verification when a school or employer checks it.
Why it cannot work
WAEC results carry security features, and universities, employers and embassies confirm results with WAEC itself. A changed slip does not change WAEC's records.
What you can actually do
- Request a re-marking or check through WAEC's official process if you believe there is an error.
- Re-sit the papers through the official private candidate examination.
- Check results only on WAEC's official portal.
