Short answer: MTN Ghana's official customer care is 100 (toll-free from an MTN line) or +233 24 430 0000, and its email is customercare.gh@mtn.com. The head office is Scancom PLC, Plot OER 6, Independence Avenue, Ridge, Accra. MTN staff will never ask for your MoMo PIN, and real MoMo reversals are done by MTN, not by the caller.

Fake "MTN staff" calls and MoMo scams
- "I sent money to your number by mistake." The caller asks you to send it back. Check your actual MoMo balance in the app or with *170#, not the SMS. Real reversals go through MTN, so tell them to contact MTN. Read how to spot a fake MoMo alert.
- "Your SIM or MoMo account will be blocked." The caller asks for your PIN or a code. MTN never asks for your PIN.
- Promotions and "MTN rewards" that ask for a fee or a code to claim a prize.
- Fake customer care pages on social media. See how to find real customer care numbers.
If you have been scammed
- Call MTN on 100 straight away and ask them to block the transaction and the scammer's wallet.
- Report it to the Cyber Security Authority on 292.
- Report the scammer's number on TrustCheck so others are warned.
