Short answer: The real site is TrustCheckApp.com. We are not trustcheck.club, which is a separate company, and any site with a similar name that asks you to pay a monthly fee to look up numbers is not TrustCheckApp.com. TrustCheckApp.com never charges subscriptions for checking a number, a message or a website. Stop, check the address, and do not pay.
Why similar names cause mix-ups
Different websites can have very similar names, and scam sites sometimes copy a well-known name and change one small part: an extra word, a different ending, a dash or a typo. On a phone the address bar is short, so people tap a link without reading it letter by letter. The only reliable check is the full address.
Check the address first
- The real site is TrustCheckApp.com. Read every letter before you sign in or pay.
- trustcheck.club is a separate company and is not connected to TrustCheckApp.com. We cannot see, cancel or refund anything you paid there.
- The safest way is to open TrustCheckApp.com from the home-screen app you added yourself, or type the address in directly.
Warning signs on the page
- It asks you to pay before you can see a number check or a report.
- It sells a monthly or yearly membership for looking up numbers.
- It promises a name for any phone number. TrustCheckApp.com never promises a name lookup. Our number pages explain how you can see the name yourself: the MoMo name check by USSD (cancel before you enter your PIN), or Truecaller and WhatsApp.
- It asks for your MoMo PIN, an OTP code or card details to "verify" your account. TrustCheckApp.com never asks for these, and you should never share them with anyone.
- It uses a countdown or says "only today" to rush you into paying.
- It offers to remove a scam report or a review for a fee.
Warning signs on your statement
- A charge you do not remember, with a name close to TrustCheckApp.com.
- Repeat debits after one small payment.
- A MoMo prompt to approve a payment you did not start.
If you see a charge like this, do not reply to the message or call the number on it. Look at the statement description, then contact your bank or MoMo provider straight away. For suspected fraud you can also contact the Ghana Police Cybercrime Unit, or the Cyber Security Authority on 292.
What real TrustCheckApp.com charges look like
Being clear about this helps you spot a fake quickly:
- Reading reports is open to everyone. You do not need to pay to browse the reports on check a number, handle or website.
- Investigate this number: the first report per person is free. After that it is GH₵20 by MoMo, refunded if nothing useful is found. You ask for it from a phone number page while signed in.
- Business Pro plans are for businesses that claim their page: Basic GH₵49 and Premium GH₵99 a month, paid through Paystack.
Anything else asking you for a monthly fee to look up numbers, messages or websites is not something TrustCheckApp.com offers.
How to check before you pay
- Type TrustCheckApp.com yourself, or open the saved home-screen app.
- Look at the address bar and the sign-in page. Does the spelling match exactly?
- Ask yourself what you are paying for. A real TrustCheckApp.com charge is either an investigation or a business Pro plan, and both are described on the site.
- Still not sure? Open a support ticket on TrustCheckApp.com and a person from the team will answer.
Sign-up is free, and it is for Ghana
Signing up is free, and Ghana phone numbers are used for SMS codes. Reports can only be sent by people in Ghana, or by members who confirmed a Ghanaian mobile number. If a site asks you to pay just to create an account, treat it as a warning sign.
How TrustCheckApp.com helps you stay safe
- Check a number, handle or website before you send money.
- Paste a MoMo or payment SMS to see its warning signs. Your own balance is the only real proof, so check it too.
- Report a scammer if you are in Ghana. A person checks every report before it is published.
If you are not sure whether a site is real, go back to TrustCheckApp.com and start from there. Slow down, read the address, and never let a site rush you into paying.
