Short answer: Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, but in Ghana sales usually run through most of November. The best protection is to check the normal price before the sale, buy only from the shop's official app or website, and never pay a stranger by MoMo for a "Black Friday deal" seen on Instagram or WhatsApp.
When is Black Friday in Ghana?
Black Friday is the Friday after US Thanksgiving: 27 November 2026. Big Ghanaian sellers such as Jumia have run Black Friday campaigns across several weeks. In 2025 Jumia's sales ran on Fridays from late October to early December. Check the shop's official app for this year's dates.
Is the discount real?
- Look up the normal price now, before the sale. Our price checker compares prices across Ghanaian shops.
- Screenshot the price a week before. A "50% off" that matches last week's price is not a deal.
- Compare with at least two other shops.
Black Friday scams to avoid
- Fake shop websites and pages copying Jumia, Melcom or phone shops, with prices that are too low.
- "Pay now to reserve" posts on Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp status. You pay by MoMo and the seller blocks you.
- Fake delivery fee calls after you order.
- Phishing links promising "Black Friday vouchers" that steal your login or MoMo PIN.
- Clone and refurbished phones sold as new. Read how to check an iPhone.
Safe Black Friday checklist
- Type the shop's website address yourself or use its official app.
- Prefer pay on delivery, and inspect before paying.
- Search the seller on TrustCheck and check their number.
- Keep receipts and know the return policy.
