Before you pay for a car

  • See the car, the papers and the seller's Ghana Card in person, in daylight. Never pay a "deposit to hold it" or for "clearing" before that.
  • The VIN on the windscreen, the door frame, the engine bay and the papers must all be the same.
  • Ask the DVLA to confirm through ICUMS that duty was paid and the car is registered to the seller.
  • Take it to a mechanic you choose, not one the seller brings.
